About Burnaby Japanese Language School (BJLS)

Established in 1983, Burnaby Japanese Language School (BJLS) was founded by Japanese parents who understood the importance of providing a formal education of the Japanese language to their children in Canada.  In 1997, BJLS officially became an independent non-profit organization.

For over 30 years, through the cooperation of both teachers and parents, BJLS has been providing Heritage Course classes for children who speak Japanese at home. Since 2008, we have added Fundamental Course classes for children who do not speak Japanese at home.
